Sweet treats for a sweet price – Candy Club.
Hey everyone, Rose here with another review for you. I have another subscription box to share with you. This time, it is from The Candy Club. I know I have seen them around for a while and I just got around to testing them for you. They start at around $20 a box when you buy a yearly subscription. The Candy Club used to offer three different boxes; they recently added a fourth where you can actually pick out your own candies each month. Apparently, your choices of candy depend on your zip code, using mine, I could choose from more than 30 different candies.
The standard subscription plans include:
The three standard subscription plans include ‘surprise’ boxes. You can choose from a sweets box, a sour box, or a mixed box. I was given the mixed box to review for The Candy Club. If I had to pick one myself I think I would go for either the sweets box or I would make my own.
As you see, the mixed box came very nicely boxed with three containers of random candy as well as a wrapped candy. This month, the wrapped candy was cotton candy flavored salt water taffy. The containers are nestled in a cardboard sleeve to prevent banging as well as wrapped in a thermal bag to protect it from extreme temperatures.
Now the rundown of what I got in my first box. The first container you see is Dorval Wild Cherry Sour Power Belts. Can you say pucker power! My wife loves sour candies and these were almost too much for her. The next is Gimbal’s Orange N’ Cream soft chews. I have heard of this company before but had never the chews. These had a good flavor with the cream being the stronger of the two. They have a texture that reminds me of dots. The last one was Gimbal’s 41 flavor jelly beans. Jelly beans are what I think of when I think of Gimbal’s. If you are a fan of Jelly Belly, but not their price tag, then give Gimbal’s a try. The flavors, in my opinion, are almost identical.
My final thoughts:
Do I think The Candy Club is worth it? If you like trying new candy and can afford the monthly splurge then sure. I guess it may also depend on where in the country you live. I am in an area where many things seem to be cheaper, so I can’t say without a doubt that I save money with this box. If you want it more for the experience than the savings, then I would say give them a try.
As an added bonus you can save 50% off your first order with The Candy Club.
